Next Tuesday the Federal Budget lands. Here's why every Mosman homeowner should be paying attention.

Next Tuesday night, Treasurer Jim Chalmers will hand down the 2026–27 Federal Budget, and I'll be honest with you, this one has my attention more than most.

It's the first budget since Labor's re-election, and from what I'm hearing, it's shaping up to be one of the more significant ones in recent years. For people who own property, have investments, or are thinking about their financial future ,and let's face it, that's most of us in the area, what gets announced on Tuesday night could genuinely shift things.

Here's what's being talked about, and why I think it matters for our community:

Property & investment - There's a lot of noise around potential changes to negative gearing and the capital gains tax discount. As someone who talks to Mosman homeowners and investors every single day, I can tell you these aren't abstract policy discussions, they have real consequences for what your property is worth and how you plan around it.

Income tax - Further changes to tax rates and thresholds are on the cards. Whether you're a high earner, a business owner, or drawing on super, the details matter.

Cost of living - Energy rebates, Medicare and healthcare spending are all expected to feature. We'll cut through the noise and focus on what's actually relevant to households like yours.
